Individual Volunteer Opportunities

Come volunteer with us!

All of our indoor shifts take place at our basement storage space located at Finnegan Development, 181 Bedford Street, Lexington, MA. Volunteers help organize our diaper inventory, prep for monthly distribution and physically help fulfill diaper requests on distribution day.

What will I be doing?

    • When: Every Third Tuesday of the month (On-call shifts available between 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM)

    • What you'll do: Our monthly diaper pallets arrive by truck on the Tuesday prior to our Wednesday monthly distribution! Because we operate out of a cozy basement storage space, we need a dedicated crew to help safely unload the delivery, break down the pallets, and stack everything neatly by size so the room is organized and ready for distribution day the next morning.

    • Physical Note: This shift is a great workout! It involves steady lifting and carrying boxes weighing 10–20 lbs.

    • When: Every Third Wednesday of the month (Shifts available 10:00 AM-12:00 and 12:00 – 2:00 PM)

    • What you'll do: This is our big distribution day! Volunteers pull boxes and packs of diapers to fill diaper requests lists from partner agencies in 20 minute increments. Volunteers also help load diapers directly into the vehicles of our partner agencies from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Before You Sign Up: Know Before You Go

A quick heads-up on how we roll! Our shifts are weekday-only, designed for adults, and involve some heavy lifting. Because space is tight, spots are super limited.

  • Let's Get Physical!

    These roles involve standing, bending, and lifting diaper boxes weighing between 10 to 20 lbs. It’s a great workout while helping others. A win-win!

  • Tuesday & Wednesday

    We’re looking for adult volunteers for daytime shifts on the third Tuesday and Wednesday of the month. It involves moving and stacking boxes, so we are sticking to grown-ups for now!

  • Small Space, Big Impact

    Because Beantown Baby Diaper Bank operates out of a semi-cozy basement space, our shifts are strictly limited to 3–4 volunteers at a time, at least for the moment!
